KIDS 101/ADULTS 101 – NORTH SOUTH
Each game consists of a three minute round, a one minute break, and then another three minute round with the position of the players switched.

COMP CLASS/ADULTS 201 – HALF GUARD
Each game consists of a three minute round, a one minute break, and then another three minute round with the position of the players switched.
Game 1: Half Guard 1
Top Player:
- Position: Top of half guard with double underhooks and chest to chest contact on your partner.
- Objective: Hold bottom player down with chest to chest contact and underhooks.
- Constraints: None
- Win Condition: Pass the half guard by using the free leg to free the trapped leg.
Bottom Player:
- Position: Bottom of half guard with your partner having double underhooks and chest to chest contact.
- Objective: Free yourself from double underhooks
- Constraints: None
- Win Condition: Underhooks removed.

Game 2: Half Guard 2
Top Player:
- Position: Top of half guard with one underhook and chest to chest contact on your partner.
- Objective: Hold bottom player down chest to chest with contact. Search for double underhooks.
- Constraints: None
- Win Condition: Double underhooks established.
Bottom Player:
- Position: Bottom of half guard with your opponent having one underhook and chest to chest contact. You have a frame on the head arm.
- Objective: Use movement to create space and improve your position.
- Constraints: None
- Win Condition: Achieve knee shield or inside hook.

Game 3: Half Guard 3
Top Player:
- Position: Top of your partner who is on their side. You have access to their hips.
- Objective: Flatten your opponent to their back, create chest to chest contact, and establish underhooks

- Win Condition: Free your trapped leg.
Bottom Player:
- Position: On your side with your partner having access to your hips.
- Objective: Use movement to create space and improve your position.
- Constraints: None
- Win Condition: Establish the knee shield or inside hook.

- Position: On top of your partner with chest to chest contact lying perpendicular to their torso.

- Win Condition: Achieve a figure four grip from top side control, an extended arm connected to your partner’s head while in mount, or an exposed back with solidified chest to back contact with an over/under grip (seatbelt).
Bottom Player:
- Position: On your back with your partner on top of you lying perpendicular to your torso with chest to chest contact.
- Objective: Create space and movement in order to allow improvement of your position.

ADULTS 201/KIDS 201 – ARM IN CHOKE
Each game consists of a three minute round, a one minute break, and then another three minute round with the position of the players switched.
PRE-GAME WORK: DRILL THE ARM IN GUILLOTINE CHOKE! WORK ON THE BREAKING MECHANICS!
This game should only be played enough rounds for each player to get a feel for finishing the submission and for feeling the submission mechanics being applied.
Top Player:
- Position: Connected with one hand on the chin and one hand on the elbow.
- Objective: Continuously try to keep your partner’s hands on the mat and continuously cover their head.
- Constraints: No submissions allowed.
- Win Condition: None
Bottom Player:
- Position: On your hands and knees with your partner covering your head with one hand on your chin and one hand on your elbow.
- Objective: Try to relieve yourself from the situation by freeing your head.
- Constraints: None.
- Win Condition: Free your head.

Top Player:
- Position: On your toes with your chest connected to your partner’s shoulder blades, one hand on their chin, and one hand on their elbow.
- Objective: Continuously try to keep your partner’s hands on the mat and continuously cover their head. Connect your arms locking your partner’s head and arm together then destabilize them to their back.
- Constraints: No submissions allowed.
- Win Condition: Partner is destabilized to their back with their arm and head locked together.
Bottom Player:
- Position: On your hands and knees with your partner’s chest connected to your shoulder blades, one hand holding your chin, and one hand on your elbow.
- Objective: Try to relieve yourself from the situation by freeing your head.
- Constraints: None.
- Win Condition: Free your head.

Top Player:
- Position: Connected with one hand on the chin and one hand on the elbow.
- Objective: Continuously try to keep your partner’s hands on the mat and continuously cover their head. Connect your arms locking your partner’s head and arm together then destabilize them to their back. As you do so look to secure a figure 4 grip, maintain it, and compress to finish.
- Constraints: None
- Win Condition: Finish the head and arm strangle.
Bottom Player:
- Position: On your hands and knees with your partner covering your head with one hand on your chin and one hand on your elbow.
- Objective: Try to relieve yourself from the situation by freeing your head.
- Constraints: None.

Attacking Player:
- Position: Standing in front of your partner with one of their ankles or shins connected to one of your legs and one hand connected to your legs.
- Objective: Break your partner’s connections to your body.
- Constraints:
- Win Condition: None
Defending Player:
- Position: Seated in front of your partner with one of your shins or ankles connected to one of their legs and one hand connected to their legs.
- Objective: Create meaningful connections to your partner’s legs using your legs, hands, and arms. If you are able to gain control retain it for as long as possible.
- Constraints: Do not sweep your opponent.
- Win Condition: None
Game 2: Seated Guard and Destabilization
Attacking Player:
- Position: Standing in front of your partner with one of their ankles or shins connected to one of your legs and one hand connected to your legs.
- Objective: Focus on breaking your partner’s connections to your body, and progress past their knees to their thighs. Remain there as long as possible.
- Constraints: Do not proceed past the thighs.
- Win Condition: None
Defending Player:
- Position: Seated in front of your partner with one of your shins or ankles connected to one of their legs and one hand connected to their legs.
- Objective: Create meaningful connections to your partner’s legs using your legs, hands, and arms. Use those connections to destabilize your partner to their hands or hips. If they go to their hands hold them there for as long as possible.
- Constraints: None
- Win Condition: None

Defending Player:
- Position: Seated in front of your partner with one of your shins or ankles connected to one of their legs and one hand connected to their legs.
- Objective: Create meaningful connections to your partner’s legs using your legs, hands, and arms. Use those connections to destabilize your partner, bring them to the mat, and create chest to chest or chest to back contact.
- Constraints: None
- Win Condition: Transition to a position where your legs are connected to one or both of your partner’s legs.

Game 4: Guillotine 1
Top Player:
- Position: Standing while straddling your supine partner with the top of your head touching the mat in their armpit. Their arm should be wrapped around your neck with their hands connected. The position should be uncomfortable, but you should not be getting actively choked.
- Objective: Focus on freeing your head from the submission using movement and by fighting their hands.
- Constraints: None
- Win Condition: Freeing your head.
Bottom Player:
- Position: Laying on the ground belly up with your partner’s feet on either side of your body and with their head on the mat in your armpit. Your arm should wrap around their neck and your hands should be connected.
- Objective: Maintain control of your opponent without actively choking them.
- Constraints: Do not finish the submission.
- Win Condition: None

Top Player:

KIDS 101/ADULTS 101 – CHEST TO BACK PINNING
Each game consists of a three minute round, a one minute break, and then another three minute round with the position of the players switched.
Attacking Player:
- Position: One of your partner’s legs is held immobilized between your legs using your hands and arms.
- Objective: Stay connected to the single leg and single leg situation. Move your partner around. Move the single leg to different parts of your body.
- Constraints: No takedowns.
- Win Condition: None
Defending Player:
- Position: Your partner has a single leg grip, and you are balanced on one foot.
- Objective: Stay balanced and remove your leg from the situation by any means.
- Constraints: None
- Win Condition: Leg is removed from the single leg situation.
Reset if defending player wins.
Top Player:
- Position: Behind your partner with chest to back contact.
- Objective: Maintain chest to back contact for as long as possible.
- Constraints: Do not connect your hands. You can grab anywhere on your opponnent but never connect your own hands.
- Win Condition: None
Bottom Player:
- Position: In front of your partner with your hands (or elbows) and knees on the ground and their chest contacting your back.
- Objective: Use movement to create space and improve your position.
- Constraints: None
- Win Condition: Turn and face your partner by any means necessary.

- Position: Behind your partner with chest to back contact and your hands locked around their waist.
- Objective: Get your hands connected to the hips and shoulders simultaneously. Maintain chest to back connection and back exposure for as long as possible.

Bottom Player:
- Position: In front of your partner with your hands and knees on the ground, their chest contacting your back, and their hands locked around your waist.
- Objective: Use movement to create space and improve your position.
- Constraints: None
- Win Condition: Turn and face your partner by any means necessary.

Top Player:
- Position: Behind your partner with chest to back contact, a single leg wrapped around their torso with your foot covering their hip, one arm wrapped over their shoulder, the other arm wrapped under their armpit, and your hands connected.
- Objective: Maintain chest to back contact while hunting for submissions.
- Constraints: Do not puncture the second hook. Only close your legs around your partner while attacking an upper body submission.
- Win Condition: Successfully submitting your opponent.
Bottom Player:
- Position: In front of your partner with their chest contacting your back, a single leg wrapped around your torso with the foot covering your hip, one arm wrapped over your shoulder, the other arm wrapped under your armpit, and their hands connected.
- Objective: Use movement to create space and improve your position.

- Win Condition: Turn and face your partner by any means necessary.

- Position: On one side with your bottom leg inside your partner’s knees, your top knee should be touching their upper body, and your hands/arms should be touching their body in any configuration you’d like.
- Objective: Keep your top knee between you and your partner. Do not allow them to remove it.

Top Player:
- Position: On your knees with your partner’s bottom leg between yours and your chest pressing against the knee of their top leg. Their hands should be connected to your body in any configuration they want.
- Objective: Remove the knee shield and get the under hook.
- Constraints: You can alleviate pressure to manipulate the frame, but cannot flee the engagement.
- Win Condition: The knee shield is no longer between you and your partner and you’ve established the under hook.
Bottom Player:
- Position: On one side with your bottom leg inside your partner’s knees, your top knee should be touching their upper body, and your hands/arms should be touching their body in any configuration you’d like.
- Objective: Keep your top knee between you and your partner. Do not allow them to remove it. Fight to get the under hook!
- Constraints: None
- Win Condition: Get the under hook.
Reset if either player wins.
Top Player:
- Position: On your knees with your partner’s half guard. Starting with the under hook and the knee cleared from the knee shield.
- Objective: Passing the half guard while maintaining the under hook.
- Constraints: You can alleviate pressure to manipulate the frame, but cannot flee the engagement.
- Win Condition: You passed the half guard while still having the under hook.
Bottom Player:
- Position: On one side with your bottom leg inside your partner’s knees, your top knee should be touching their upper body, and your hands/arms should be touching their body in any configuration you’d like.
- Objective: Keep your top knee between you and your partner. Do not allow them to remove it. Fight to get the under hook!
- Constraints: None
- Win Condition: Get the under hook.

Each game consists of a three minute round, a one minute break, and then another three minute round with the position of the players switched.
Game 1:Finishing the Single Leg
Attacking Player:
- Position: One of your partner’s legs is held with your hands and arms between your legs.
- Objective: Stay connected to the single leg and single leg situation. Move your partner around. Move the single leg to different parts of your body, and attempt to take your partner down to their hips or hands.
- Constraints: N/A
- Win Condition: Taking partner down to their hips or hands.
Defending Player:
- Position: Your partner has a single leg grip, and you are balanced on one foot.
- Objective: Stay balanced and remove your leg from the situation by any means.
- Constraints: None
- Win Condition: Leg is removed from the single leg situation.
Reset if either player wins.
Game 2: One Arm RNC
Attacking Player:
- Position: Behind your partner with one arm around their neck. The choking arm can be positioned any way that you would like. Your legs should be wrapped around your partner’s torso.
- Objective: Maintain control for as long as possible.
- Constraints: No using your second hand to assist in maintaining the choke and no finishing the submission.
- Win Condition: None.
Defending Player:
- Position: Seated with your parther behind you with one arm around your neck and their legs wrapped around your torso.
- Objective: Focus on breaking the connections your partner has made to you with their arms, legs, and chest.
- Constraints: None
- Win Condition: Freeing yourself from their choke by turning to face or hiding your back.
Reset if the defending player wins.
Game 3: RNC Hand Fighting
Attacking Player:
- Position: Behind your partner with one arm around their neck with the hand grabbing your opposite bicep. The hand of your other arm should be behind their head either on your opposite shoulder or the back of their head. Your legs should not be wrapped around your partner and their hips should not be covered.
- Objective: Maintain control for as long as possible.
- Constraints: Do not cover their hips with your feet (no hooks). Do not choke your partner or finish the submission.
- Win Condition: None.
Defending Player:
- Position: Seated with your partner behind you with one arm around your neck with the hand grabbing their our opposite bicep. The hand of their other arm should be behind your head either on their opposite shoulder or the back of your head.Their legs should not be wrapped around your torso or covering your hips.
- Objective: Focus on breaking the connections your partner has made to you with their arms, legs, and chest.
- Constraints: None
- Win Condition: Freeing yourself from their choke by turning to face or hiding your back.

Game 4: Back Attack Transitions
Attacking Player:
- Position: Behind your partner with one arm around their neck with the hand grabbing your opposite bicep. The hand of your other arm should be behind their head either on your opposite shoulder or the back of their head. Your legs should be wrapped around your partner’s torso.
- Objective: Transition from the rear naked choke to any other submission without losing control of your partner.
- Constraints: Finish with any submission except the choke that you begin with.
- Win Condition: Make your opponent tap by successfully applying a submission.
Defending Player:
- Position: Seated with your parther behind you with one arm around your neck with the hand grabbing their our opposite bicep. The hand of their other arm should be behind your head either on their opposite shoulder or the back of your head.
- Objective: Focus on breaking the connections your partner has made to you with their arms, legs, and chest.
- Constraints: None
- Win Condition: Freeing yourself from by turning to face, hiding your back, or standing.

Game 5: Punishing Posts from Seated Guard
Top Player:
- Position: On your knees in front of your training partner with your partner’s feet inside your knees.
- Objective: Break your partner’s connections to your body and pin them to their back.
- Constraints: None
- Win Condition: Pinning bottom player to their back.
Bottom Player:
- Position: Seated on your butt with our feet between your partner’s knees.
- Objective: Work to connect to your partner using your hands and feet. Attempt to make your partner post, and when they do keep their hand(s) on the mat for as long as possible.

- Win Condition: None

ADULTS 201/KIDS 201 – KNEE ON BELLY
Each game consists of a three minute round, a one minute break, and then another three minute round with the position of the players switched.
Top Player:
- Position: On top of your partner with one knee on your partner’s torso and your opposite leg extended out to the side.
- Objective: Maintain your position. You do not need to stay in the starting, and can transition from one side to the other.
- Constraints: You cannot touch your partner or the ground with your hands.
- Win Condition: None
Bottom Player:
- Position: On your back underneath your partner with one of their knees on your torso and their hands connected to your upper body.
- Objective: Focus on freeing yourself from your partner’s pin by blocking their leg and moving your body from underneath it.
- Constraints: None
- Win Condition: Free yourself from the pin by removing their leg from your torso or reversing the position.

Top Player:
- Position: On top of your partner with one knee on your partner’s torso and your opposite leg extended out to the side. Your hands should be connected to your partner’s upper body to help

- Objective: Transition to a submission by looking to isolate an arm. Any other submissions are also acceptable if the arms are unavailable.

- Win Condition: Force your partner to tap.
Bottom Player:
- Position: On your back underneath your partner with one of their knees on your torso and their hands connected to your upper body.
- Objective: Focus on freeing yourself from your partner’s pin by blocking their leg and moving your body from underneath it.

- Win Condition: You have freed yourself from the pin by removing their leg from your torso or reversed the position.

Top Player:
- Position: On your knees next to your partner with their stomach towards you. Your near arm should be looped under the armpit of their top arm and underneath their neck with the hand gripping your bicep or forearm. Your other arm should have the elbow on the ground with its hand on the back of your partner’s top shoulder.
- Objective: Maintain control of the position for as long as possible.
- Constraints: No finishing the submission.
- Win Condition: None
Bottom Player:
- Position: Lying on your side facing your partner. One of their arms should be passing through the armpit of your top arm and looping underneath your neck.
- Objective: Focus on escaping the submission by grip fighting and turning your hips.
- Constraints: None.
- Win Condition: You have freed your head from the submission.
Top Player:
- Position: On your knees next to your partner with their stomach towards you. Your near arm should be looped under the armpit of their top arm and underneath their neck with the hand gripping your bicep or forearm. Your other arm should have the elbow on the ground with its hand on the back of your partner’s top shoulder.

Game 3: Open Guard Sweeping
Top Player:
- Position: Standing disconnected from your partner near their feet.
- Objective: Clear the line of the feet and advance to the line of the knees either outside or inside your partner’s legs. Hold this position for as long as possible.
- Constraints: Stay as close to your partner as possible.
- Win Condition: None
Bottom Player:
- Position: Lying on your back with your knees retracted to your chest and elbows in near your knees.
- Objective: Make and maintain connections to inside position using your hands and feet and then use those connections to destabilize your partner.
- Constraints: None
- Win Condition: Off balance your partner forcing them either onto their hands or their butt. If they land on their butt immediately reset and continue. If they land on their hands hold them in that position for as long as you can.

Game 5: Maintain the Knee Shield
Top Player:
- Position: On your knees with your partner’s bottom leg between yours and your chest pressing against the knee of their top leg. Their hands should be connected to your body in any configuration they want.
- Objective: Remove the knee shield.
- Constraints: You can alleviate pressure to manipulate the frame, but cannot flee the engagement.
- Win Condition: The knee shield is no longer between you and your partner.
Bottom Player:
- Position: On one side with your bottom leg inside your partner’s knees, your top knee should be touching their upperbody, and your hands/arms should be touching their body in any configuration you’d like.
- Objective: Keep your top knee between you and your partner. Do not allow them to remove it.
- Constraints: None

- Objective: Focus on maintaining control of your partner’s far arm using your figure four grip.
- Constraints: Do not finish the submission. If you think your partner is close to injuring themselves in an escape attempt then release them.
- Win Condition: None
Bottom Player:
- Position: On your back with your partner on top of you lying perpendicular to your torso with chest to chest contact. They should be holding one of your arms in a figure four grip as described in the top player’s starting position.
- Objective: Create space and movement in order to allow improvement of your position.
- Constraints: None.
- Win Condition: Bring your feet between you and your partner or reverse the position.

Game 3: Finishing the Grip
Top Player:
- Position: On top of your partner with chest to chest contact lying perpendicular to their torso. Your arm furthest from their head should be holding the wrist of their far arm. Your other arm can be anywhere that you choose.
- Objective: Focus on maintaining control of your partner’s far arm using your figure four grip.
- Constraints: None
- Win Condition: Acehieving a two on one grip with one hand holding their wrist and the other reinforcing it in a figure four.
Bottom Player:
- Position: On your back with your partner on top of you lying perpendicular to your torso with chest to chest contact. They should be holding one of your wrists with one hand.
- Objective: Create space and movement in order to allow improvement of your position.
- Constraints: None.
- Win Condition: Bring your feet between you and your partner or reverse the position.

Game 4: Creating Opportunities for Attack
Top Player:
- Position: On your knees with your partner’s bottom leg between yours and your chest pressing against the knee of their top leg. Their hands should be connected to your body in any configuration they want.

- Objective: Transition to a submission by looking to isolate an arm. Any other submissions are also acceptable if the arms are unavailable.
- Constraints: None
- Win Condition: Force your partner to tap.
Bottom Player:
- Position: On your back underneath your partner with one of their knees on your torso and their hands connected to your upper body.
- Objective: Focus on freeing yourself from your partner’s pin by blocking their leg and moving your body from underneath it.

- Win Condition: You have freed yourself from the pin by removing their leg from your torso or reversed the position.
